I am going to start posting my restaurant reviews on the blog. I get asked often by people if I cook every night, and I do cook Sunday through Thursday but on the weekends we always eat out! Usually Friday is an early family dinner with Hank and Saturday date night. Pete is obsessed with knowing all the new restaurant openings and following the Minneapolis heat map. So I figured why not share our review on PLP!
Se Salt-
Se Salt Friday we went to Se Salt which is the seafood restaurant at Minnehaha Falls. It was actually nice out so we figured Hank could see the falls play at the park and we could grab dinner. Apparently that was what everyone else in the whole city was thinking as well. If you have not been to Se Salt its on the same page as Tin Fish and Bread and Pickle. You wait in line to place and order and then sit outside at a picnic table and they bring you your food. It was so crowded I waited in line 40 mins. I wish I would have known about the separate beer line. Get beers first to ease the pain of the line. We had the calamari app, 2 orders of the fried mahi mahi tacos, and the kids fish basket. Calamari was AWESOME but the tacos don't hold a candle to Tin Fish. The kids basket was decent. I was impressed with the beer selection! They had 5 different Summit beers on draft. I had the Summit Hell which I felt was an appropriate selection after waiting for so long for my average taco! They do have Seb Joes ice cream which was of course amazing! All in all the atmosphere is fun and festive, the cold beers are awesome, and the ice cream rules. A fun spring/ summer place to bring the kids!

La Fresca-
http://www.lafrescampls.com/ Pete has been talking about La Fresca and how its #1 on the heat map for weeks. Well this past Saturday we got to find out why. It is AMAZING!!!! I LOVED it. Sorry in advance I only have 1 pic but trust me the food is insane and you need to go. I have a soft spot for Mexican places because they make me feel like I am back home in Chicago. The service was perfection. They have Negro Modelo and Pacifico on tap...aka heaven. We had the snapper ceviche and tortias ahogadas for starters. The ahogadas were like mexican sloppy joes or something. They were so crazy good. For entrees we had the Red Snapper and the lamb. They were both awesome but the snapper was way better. It was on a bed of churizo! Bottom line is La Fresca is not to be missed!
